APPLICATION CALLING FOR BLUE AWARDS – 2021

Blue award programme is desired to give recognition to hotels, Fishery harbors and beach park who adopt stringent measures to protect marine environment and enhance resource efficiency to ensure sustainable development. Though this eco label procedure aim to inculcate use of environmental friendly and sustainable method of operation in the entity by increasing resource use efficiency. Blue award awards hotels, fishery harbor and beach park create behavioral change ensure sustainability of such as industries, tourism and fisheries.

The National Blue Award would be awarded to whom who has achieved the criteria under three sectors mentioned below;

• National Blue Award for Coastal Hotel
• National Blue Award for Fishery Harbour
• National Blue Award for Beach Park

Common conditions

• Cash prizes and certificates would be awarded to the winners of the competition.
• The blue awards ceremony will be held in October 2021 at Colombo.
• The application is accepted in any of three languages (Sinhala, English, Tamil)
• The duly completed application with relevant documents should be sent to Chairman, Marine Environment Protection Authority 177, Nawala Road, Narahenpita, Colombo 05 on or before 30th April, 2021 either by registered post or by hand.
• Every competition will be judged by a subject-expert panel of judges and the decision of the panel of judges will be the as final.
