The Clean Sri Lanka program was successfully conducted on February 16, 2025, at Deer Park Beach, Trincomalee, with the participation of Eastern Province Governor, Hon. Professor Jeyanthalal Rathnaserkera, as the Chief Guest.
The event also saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, DCC Chairman of Trincomalee and Batticaloa, Hon. Arun Hemachandra, Chief Secretary of the Eastern Province, Mr. Talangama, and Mr. W. G. M. Hemanthakumara. Additionally,
all Ministry Secretaries of the Eastern Province, Heads of Departments, and Mr. Jegath Gunasergara, General Manager of MEPA, actively participated.
This large-scale cleanup drive covered 53 locations in Trincomalee, 23 locations in Batticaloa, and 66 locations in Ampara. The initiative was successfully coordinated by Mr. Faizal, Chief Ministry Secretary of the Eastern Province, and Mr. T. Shripathy, Assistant
Manager, Northern and Eastern Provinces of MEPA.
A significant effort towards environmental conservation, the Clean Sri Lanka program continues to inspire collective responsibility in maintaining a cleaner and greener Sri Lanka.
