Water Quality Measurement (Both Fresh and Sea Water)
The Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) laboratory, registered under the Central Environmental Authority (CEA), is located in the Galle district. This laboratory conducts physical, chemical, and biological testing for seawater, drinking water, swimming pool water, and wastewater, as outlined in the parameters listed below.
Currently, the MEPA laboratory offers a comprehensive range of water quality monitoring services to help industries meet their legal obligations and comply with environmental regulations. All laboratory operations adhere to the ISO 17025:2017 Laboratory Management System.
Testing facilities for water quality are available on a commercial basis.
